GENERAL CAMP INFORMATION

Camp Shotokan is located at the Academy by the Sea, in Carlsbad, CA. PLEASE REGISTER EARLY! We had to turn people away last year. Space is limited; and we try to maintain a very low instructor/student ratio.

Credit Cards – YES! We take credit card payments – please see camp registration form.

Camp dates are August 16-19. As those of you who have been here before will remember, Carlsbad is the perfect Southern California Beach town! It is located 30 miles between San Diego and Orange County, and is surrounded by miles of coast line and tons of stuff to do.

As you can see by the picture above, we are located just steps from the Pacific Ocean (the gym is in the big building in the center of the photo, our dorms are to the left of the gym). As in previous years, campers are welcome to bring non-training family and friends (at a big discount off regular camp prices), for a great (and inexpensive) weekend at the beach – or, as many do, as part of a longer Southern California vacation...

Please visit the following site for more pictures and information about our location and the beautiful city of Carlsbad: www.army-navyacademy.com/ana_campus.html

What to bring: Mainly beach and light recreation wear. The weather in Carlsbad is absolutely beautiful this time of year. Shorts, t-shirts, jeans, tennis shoes, sandals, swimwear & SUN SCREEN, a light jacket or sweatshirt for the evening will be perfect. Also, bring towels and personal items, (a pillow, 2 sheets & a blanket will be provided), cameras and film, surf and boogie boards, cards, games, etc.

Your camp fees will include everything you need: shared double, or triple-room, three all-you-can-eat meals a day, all training fees, and a complimentary camp T-shirt and group photo.

On behalf of the AJKA, warm regards. We hope to see you at Camp Shotokan 2007!

Yours in Shotokan -

Edmond Otis
